On July 2, the BYD Seal 08 was officially launched, offering both plug-in hybrid and pure electric powertrains across six models. The three plug-in hybrid variants are the 400km Premium, 400km Flagship, and 350km AWD Flagship; the three pure electric variants are the 775km Premium, 905km Flagship, and 785km AWD Flagship.

The Seal 08 adopts the Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 design philosophy, featuring Ice Eye daytime running lights on the front fascia, ambient lighting surrounding the headlight clusters on both lower sides, and a roof-mounted lidar. The rear full-width taillight uses a gradient design with four layers of light effects, and the brand logo is embedded in the center of the light strip.

The body sides feature a fastback profile, equipped with semi-hidden door handles and multi-spoke wheels, an unobstructed C-pillar structure, four-door soft-close doors, double-layer acoustic glass throughout, privacy glass for the rear seats, and power-folding exterior mirrors. The vehicle measures 5150mm in length, 1999mm in width, and 1505mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3030mm.

The Seal 08 is equipped with the DiLink smart cockpit, featuring an AI agent called "Didi Xia." It comes with a 15.6-inch floating central control screen and a 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel. In addition, the new car features a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, 50W wireless phone charging, three-zone intelligent air conditioning, 20 Devialet speakers, and multi-color interior ambient lighting.

The front seats support power adjustment and offer heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The second-row seatbacks support power adjustment and provide heating and ventilation. The Flagship variant adds rear seatback tables, while the AWD Flagship further adds a 26-inch AR-HUD, a rear armrest screen, a heating and cooling refrigerator, and upgrades the seat material to genuine leather.

The Seal 08 comes standard across all variants with God's Eye B, supporting highway and urban navigation assist, APA parking assist, RPA remote parking assist, and AVP automated valet parking.

The Seal 08 chassis adopts front double wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension, with the Premium variant equipped with the DiSus-C body control system, while the Flagship and AWD Flagship variants adopt DiSus-A closed dual-chamber air suspension with road preview. All variants come standard with rear-wheel steering, supporting an intelligent crab-walk mode, with a minimum turning radius of 4.95 meters.

In terms of powertrain, the Seal 08 offers both pure electric and plug-in hybrid options. The pure electric version is built on an 800V high-voltage platform, offering three CLTC range versions: 775km, 785km, and 905km. The plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a 1.5T hybrid system and a 45.36kWh battery pack, with the two-wheel-drive models offering 400km of CLTC electric range and the four-wheel-drive models offering 350km.

Xiao Tang's view: The Seal 08 offers dual powertrain choices, long range, flash charging, rear-wheel steering, and air suspension, forming its own product characteristics. The over 5.1-meter vehicle length brings space advantages while also having some impact on urban parking and narrow-road U-turns; the standard rear-wheel steering across all variants alleviates this issue to a certain extent. The model's ultimate market performance will depend on consumers' actual acceptance of this "large size + high configuration" combination.
