We learned from AITO officials that the new AITO M8 is scheduled to begin pre-sales on September 30. As a model-year facelift, the new car has upgraded details in exterior and interior, adopts an L3 autonomous driving-oriented architecture across the lineup, and will be equipped with Huawei Qiankun Smart Driving ADS 5 as well as a new-generation omnidirectional stereo fusion perception system.

In terms of exterior, the overall appearance of the new AITO M8 has not changed much. Two new body colors have been added, Tianmu Qing and Cangrong Green. A side blind-spot-filling solid-state LiDAR is installed at the front fender, a camera has been added at the C-pillar, and the door handles have been redesigned to meet the requirements of the new national standard. The light source inside the rear light cluster has been optimized and adjusted, giving a more premium feel when lit. Both 20-inch and 21-inch wheels are available. The new car's length, width, and height are 5190/1999/1795mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 3105mm.

In terms of interior, the new car adopts a new full-width connected screen inside, with less black bezel between the screens and at the edges. Two new interior theme colors have been added, Shali Brown and Lanyue White. The rear right seat has gained a leg rest, all seats are wrapped in new diamond-pattern leather, and the stitching layout has also been adjusted, significantly enhancing the sense of luxury.

In terms of power, the new AITO M8 continues to offer both extended-range and pure electric powertrains, with adjustments to the power parameters. The new car's extended-range version has a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 118kW, and electric motors with maximum power of 170kW (front) and 227kW (rear). It offers battery packs with capacities of 75.408kWh and 56.036kWh, with pure electric ranges of 365/358km and 256km respectively. The new car's pure electric version has electric motors with maximum power of 160kW (front) and 227kW (rear), and offers battery packs with capacities of 120.04329kWh and 97.644kWh, with pure electric ranges of 830/800km and 708/675km respectively.

Dada Review: The AITO M8 is positioned as a family smart flagship SUV, offering both extended-range and pure electric powertrains. The current price range is 359,800-449,800 yuan. In its first month on the market, firm orders exceeded 80,000 units, and monthly sales of 20,000+ are the norm. One year after launch (by April 2026), cumulative deliveries exceeded 170,000 units, making it the sales champion in the 400,000-yuan SUV segment. The core upgrade of the new AITO M8 is its smart driving system. The entire lineup comes standard with a redundant architecture oriented toward L3 autonomous driving. The equipped Huawei Qiankun ADS 5.0 is the highest smart driving version in China, and a side camera has been added at the C-pillar, broadening the perception range. The new car's connected screen has been changed to a flat narrow-bezel design, reducing the black bezel area. The diamond-pattern seats enhance the premium feel, and the audio, ambient lighting, and physical buttons have been optimized. As long as pricing does not rise noticeably, the probability of maintaining monthly sales of 20,000+ is very high.
