From October 20 to 22, the 2026 Sustainable Global Leaders Conference was held in Shanghai. Under the theme "Building a Resilient Future Together: Global Governance, Innovation-Driven Development and Industrial Upgrading," the conference brought together more than 300 participants, including representatives of UN agencies, Nobel and Turing Award laureates, executives of leading global companies and experts from authoritative think tanks, for high-level dialogue on the real-world challenges and opportunities of global sustainable development. Tang Liming, Chief Product Strategy Officer of Geely Automobile Group, was invited to attend the thematic dialogue "Upgrading Clean Energy Consumption, Promoting Collaborative Global Energy Transition," where he shared Geely's practical achievements in green manufacturing and conveyed Chinese automakers' ESG solutions to the world.
Deepening Green Energy Innovation: Geely Leads Global Tech for Good with Green Methanol Technology
Against the backdrop of accelerating reconstruction of global carbon barriers, green manufacturing is no longer a "bonus item" for companies fulfilling social responsibility, but a "must-answer question" that determines market access and long-term survival. With the full implementation of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and global carbon footprint traceability systems, automakers are being prompted to restructure their energy mix and enhance green manufacturing capabilities. As a Chinese automaker that took the lead in committing to carbon neutrality, Geely Auto has clearly set the strategic goal of "achieving full-chain carbon neutrality by 2045, with 2020 as the baseline," advancing green manufacturing through systematic and quantifiable pathways.
By the end of 2025, Geely Auto had exceeded the 14th Five-Year Plan target of a 25% reduction in per-vehicle lifecycle emissions, actually achieving 25.5%; 17 vehicle manufacturing bases achieved 100% renewable electricity coverage, with installed photovoltaic capacity reaching 482 MW; the EMS 2.0 energy management system covers 13 major bases; and a total of 15 "National-Level Green Factories," 12 "Zero-Waste Factories" and 3 "Zero-Carbon Factories" have been built. More critically, Geely is transforming green manufacturing experience into industrial empowerment capabilities—through its self-developed "GeCarbon Cloud" carbon management digital platform, it provides carbon inventory, emission reduction pathway diagnosis and data transparency services to more than 600 suppliers; it incorporates carbon performance into its procurement scoring system, pushing 54 core suppliers to achieve 100% green electricity use, significantly reducing carbon emissions from the source of energy structure. In 2025, Geely drove annual emission reductions of 1.476 million tons across its supply chain, and as a chain-leader enterprise

helping suppliers progress together—"A single flower does not make spring; a hundred flowers in full bloom bring spring to the garden."
As the world's only automaker that has devoted more than two decades to methanol electric vehicles, Geely has built a full-chain green methanol technology and industrial system covering "methanol-production-transportation-station-vehicle-capture," spanning green methanol preparation, powertrain R&D, vehicle manufacturing, refueling facilities and carbon capture, completing a full closed loop from basic scientific research to large-scale commercialization. Currently, more than 60,000 methanol electric vehicles are in operation, with cumulative driving mileage exceeding 25 billion kilometers; the Farizon Xinghan H methanol heavy truck set a Guinness World Record for single-tank range of 1,522.9 kilometers, with a cost of only 1 yuan per kilometer. The Geely Galaxy Xingyao 6EF achieves "methanol, electric and gasoline" multi-energy flexible refueling and has been deployed in more than 6,000 units across ride-hailing, official vehicle and other scenarios, and is about to be launched to the mass market. From geothermal methanol production testing in Iceland, to the zero-carbon main torch at the Hangzhou Asian Games, to trial operation of methanol electric buses in Hong Kong, Geely is providing a replicable green mobility pathway with Chinese solutions for extremely cold, heavy-load and weak-grid regions around the world.
All-Domain AI Empowers Safety for All, Tech Inclusivity Reshapes Mobility Experience
In the global intelligentization process, Geely Auto is using its "All-Domain AI" technology system as an engine to drive safety and intelligence from high-end exclusivity toward inclusive access for all. In 2025, Geely released the world's first "Smart Vehicle All-Domain AI" technology system, achieving deep embedding of AI across the entire chain of R&D, manufacturing and services.
Currently, cumulative installations of the Flyme Auto smart cockpit have exceeded 3.59 million, making it the fastest-growing system in the industry; the super-human-like intelligent agent Eva has achieved a closed loop of "understanding-prediction-execution," with user satisfaction leading the industry; the Qianli Haohan G-ASD assisted driving system has obtained EU UN R171 certification, becoming China's first high-level intelligent driving solution to go overseas, with cumulative users of 1.07 million, cumulative mileage of 3.14 billion kilometers, an activation rate of 93.9% and the fastest growth rate globally. Geely has also become one of the first enterprises in the automotive industry to pass the ISO 42001:2023 Artificial Intelligence Management System certification, establishing AI full-lifecycle governance standards.

In the field of safety, Geely practices its "All-Domain Safety" strategy, having built the world's largest and most comprehensively equipped "Geely Global All-Domain Safety Center," earned 5 Guinness World Records and published the industry's first "White Paper on All-Domain Safety Development of Smart Vehicles." Its self-developed "Shendun Golden Brick Battery" has passed 36 extreme condition tests, far exceeding national standards, realizing the ultimate safety vision of "zero casualties, zero health hazards and zero privacy leaks." In 2025, 11 Geely models received C-NCAP five-star ratings and 8 received Euro NCAP five-star ratings; models such as Zeekr 7X and Galaxy E5 achieved full five-star certification in European and Southeast Asian markets. J.D. Power data shows that the Geely brand ranked first in fuel vehicle reputation, Lynk & Co ranked first in traditional energy intelligence, and Zeekr ranked first in new energy intelligence, demonstrating remarkable results in tech inclusivity.
Modern Governance Upgrade: Organizational Vitality Drives Sustainable Evolution
In terms of deeper support for ESG governance, Geely Auto continues to improve its modern corporate governance system. In 2026, based on corporate governance requirements and cadre pipeline development plans, Geely Holding Group completed a strategic adjustment of its management structure, further improving the authorized operating mechanism for professional managers and promoting sustainable and healthy corporate development. This adjustment marks Geely Auto's formal transition from the "founder-driven" entrepreneurial and development stage to a mature development stage characterized by "institution- and team-driven" governance. The enterprise is gradually moving from reliance on individual charisma and authority to reliance on systematic organization and a professional talent pipeline.

To actively cultivate professional talent and build a high-quality team, Geely is committed to ensuring the effective and transparent operation of the group's three-tier governance structure, creating a sound governance atmosphere for the continuous growth of internal talent and the healthy development of corporate culture. The new board of directors and management team will continue to inherit and carry forward Geely's corporate culture centered on "law-abiding compliance and honest operation," continuously improve the modern enterprise system, consistently strengthen the foundation of ESG governance and help the group achieve comprehensive excellence in the environmental, social and governance dimensions.
In 2026, Geely Auto was selected for the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for the first time, becoming the only Chinese automaker included; its ESG rating rose to "A+" and stabilized at the AA level, it was included in the Hang Seng ESG 50 Index for six consecutive years, and its supply chain ESG rating jumped to first in Asia. This is deep recognition by the global market of the green transformation of Chinese manufacturing, and also a sustainable development corporate model built for carbon neutrality by 2045.
