As one of Kia's core global production bases, Yueda Kia's Third Factory in Yancheng, Jiangsu, has long been renowned for its intelligence, digitalization, and high efficiency. It is not only a first-class modern automobile factory in China but also the "quality cornerstone" of Kia's more than 20 years of deep cultivation in the Chinese market. The factory integrates globally advanced manufacturing technologies and concepts, schedules production based on Kia's unified global high standards, and is equipped with globally leading process equipment and world-class advanced flexible production methods. It is a world-class Industry 4.0 digital-intelligent factory that is highly automated, intelligent, environmentally friendly, and human-centered.
Accompanied by relevant leaders, the Olympic champion delegation of the "Olympic Culture China Tour" visited the Third Factory's highly automated stamping, welding, painting, and final assembly production lines. It is worth noting that the Third Factory adopts internationally advanced automobile manufacturing equipment and technologies and has introduced the Global Quality Management System (GQMS), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Integrated Quality Information System (IQIS), laying a solid foundation for product reliability. The automation rate of the Third Factory's stamping workshop can reach up to 75%, and its fully automatic production model is at an industry-leading level in terms of efficiency; the welding workshop has an automation rate of 100%, with 558 robots of various types, rolling off a welded body-in-white every 36 seconds; in painting, 26 gluing robots and 71 primer and topcoat robots work simultaneously, achieving what can be called perfect painting quality and results; the final assembly line can achieve 100% accuracy in vehicle installation torque, ensuring that every fully assembled vehicle meets stringent quality requirements and achieving dual guarantees of quality control and efficiency.
Also noteworthy is that Yueda Kia continues to implement the concept of green and sustainable development, investing 187 million yuan to build a photovoltaic carport at the Third Factory, which can cover 10,000 parking spaces and generate 44.5 million kWh of electricity annually, reducing standard coal usage by approximately 18,000 tons and accelerating the transition to clean energy.
